Mentor Program
We all remember what it was like when we embarked on our individual CI journeys. What is having a cochlear implant like? Is it the right choice for me? Coming to one of our meetings is a great way to talk to real "live" cochlear implant users who can help with some of these questions. But maybe you can't get to the next meeting or want answers NOW.
"Hearing Aides" are Illinois CI Club members who have volunteered to serve as personal mentors to individuals who have chosen or are seriously considering a cochlear implant. They will support you over the phone, TTY, email or in-person to the extent they are able.

We attempt to match mentors based on age, type of loss, and geographic location. If you would like to be contacted by someone with a specific brand of cochlear implant, we will attempt to accomodate you. To request a mentor, send an email to Hanna Benioff with the following information.

Any other information you think might help us in matching you. For example, the CI brand you are considering or the nature of your loss.
